Hey there!
My name is Drake Kaiser, I'm from Cow Bay, Nova Scotia. Since I was 11 years old I knew my knack of doing annoying voices was something special. I remember playing video games with my friends and thinking how people get paid to do the same silly voices as I do and it was at that moment I was struck by my now one goal: I want to use my voice in the most unique and creative way I can.
So ever since that day I have trained to further my technique and have ended up working in radio at 105.9 Seaside FM in Eastern Passage and going to school for radio as well at the NSCC Ivany Campus in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Thanks to that program, my helpful classmates and instructors, I am now a few steps closer to achieving my dream.
My Plan
For the next 2 years I plan on either working the job I am currently at or possibly finding a job that I can use the skills I have learned from school to make enough money to save up and eventually move out of Nova Scotia. With saving up enough money hopefully I'll be able to move and try and make a name for myself in the big leagues...of the voice acting industry. I plan on moving to either Toronto, Los Angeles or New York. I have a cousin in New York who is also a set designer involved on shows like Sesame Street and Oprah so there's a chance he might know someone who knows someone. If not New York then Los Angeles as that is where a majority of the traffic of talent and talent agents are located, and if all else fails then Toronto is a popular area for most talent within Canada so there is definitely a chance to get my foot in the door. If I'm not as good as I think I am then I'll go and take acting lessons with a coach so that I am more than prepared to take on the world.
When it comes to what 5 years from now is hopefully looking like, I want to be a professional voice actor. I want to be involved in television, movies, video games, anime etc. Anything to get me a good track record within industry so that my name will come up when roles are being considered. I want to make an impact on the world of voice acting, obviously I won't be blowing down any doors but I will be making some pretty hard knocks. I plan to find myself an agent who will understand my wants and needs for roles and will cooperatively work with me so that I can have a fruitful career and hopefully inspire people to follow their dreams just like my heroes have.
